While stars burn bright as fire
to be as warm as night,
so sunlight does conspire
to be as chilled as light.
Moon rays might elicit
the rosy flame of dark.
But rise of sun does bite,
bring distance with its spark.
Flame betrayed by morning lark.
Contrary to ember dusk
(Comfort it does impart),
pale dawn stirs lonely dust.
The warmth of midnight’s shade
in early morn does fade.

Beautiful imagery!
