as Warm as Night

While stars burn bright as fire
to be as warm as night,
so sunlight does conspire
to be as chilled as light.
Moon rays elicit might
the rosy flame of dark.
But rise of sun does bite,
bring distance with its spark.
Flame ‘trayed by morning lark.
Contrar’ to ember dusk
(Comfort it does impart),
pale dawn be lonely must.
The warmth of midnight’s shade
in early morn does fade.
‘trayed = betrayed
Contrar’ = contrary
